Beats and the joy of life

I managed to arrive in Barcelona shortly after midnight and the next morning we woke up pretty early. With the summer spreading through the city the morning felt unbelievably great. Everyone was in high spirits for the upcoming gig and final touch-ups were made. Just sitting in the studio made me feel overwhelmingly creative myself.

After all preparation was done we went for a short stroll through Sants and we embraced the warmth, the feel-good-spirit and the marvellous food that was offered at the food market in Sants.

And then it was about time. The Coconut Club, the venue that the gig was taking place at, was really nice. A bar/restaurant kind of place, totally relaxed, located right at the beach, next to the really beautiful “Peix” a fish sculpture made out of steel, that was once created by Frank O. Gehry for the Summer Olympics in 1992. Beautiful! So we chilled at the club, ate, drank, listened to the other DJ Sets, enjoyed ourselves and met incredibly nice, open and warm hearted people.

Pablo and Joerg performing together was just amazing and everyone enjoyed their fantastic set really much.

The night was toped off by a marvellous dinner- until 1am – you just have to love being in Spain - with the entire crew and we simply enjoyed life to the fullest. That included another round of drinks in a bar because it was “too early” to go to the club and then clubbing itself. Pablo was booked at another club that night which was in one of the more touristy places - right of the Ramblas. We rocked the dancefloor and simply had an amazing time.

We fell into bed at 5am, totally overwhelmed and happy – what an amazing day this had been!
