You plan, you think, you do a lot of research, you dream. Daydreams of all sorts of kinds. You imagine how it would be like to finally find your van. The one and only. I can only say it makes your heart jump and it feels a little bit like falling in love. We have butterflies in our tummies and are proud like hell. What has happened in the past week feels like milestones – gigantic ones.

After buying our beloved van, we realized we hadn’t looked into insurance and taxes, which we made up for pretty fast. Who would have known that all over sudden you make a deep dive into car and camper van introduction in insurance menus, trying to find the most suitable insurance for our purposes. We did and ended up signing a great deal with an insurance that we found within one of the VW “Bulli” communities. In any case if you are interested in getting insurance for your  van, try “RMV" insurances - they were fast and the reviews you can read online are all decent. Always check if your car can be (sometimes with easy and cheap amendments) registered as a camper van – it is way less expensive.

Happy and proud, with all paperwork at hand we made our way to the road traffic licensing department. 30 minutes later it was official and our licence plates were produced and the van was registered as our brand new family member. A warm welcome!
