First ride - first night

I am totally new to camping, any sort of tent life or camper vans. I love spending time outside and to be in the nature as much as I can, but strangely enough I never really happened to camp (with 2-3 one-night experiences that can be neglected). Well this changed the 2nd night we had our van. What an exciting experience.

During the day we did a tour to Roermond which is conveniently located only an hour drive from where we live. Our van and us got to know each other a little better on this little tour and we had a blast. Besides making a stop at Vrijbuiter and buying a couple of things we needed for the van, we cruised down the streets and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine.

For those who are interested, Vrijbuiter is a great store selling all sorts of camping accessories from tents to cookers, to sleeping bags, sleep mats, etc. for decent prices and I was really astonished what kind of gigantic tents you can buy nowadays.

Having a little dinner in a parking lot of a mall, sitting at our table, was great fun. We enjoyed watching the people and the food. The reaction was great and people could not stop looking into the van with curiosity.

The best part of the day was yet to come. Having a camp ground in Düsseldorf we decided to test our van in regards to the connection for power supply and all the other utilities it comes with. To be honest we were so damn keen to spend the first night in our van, we simply went camping 4km away from our home.

Making an open fire at the river banks of the Rhine that night was our private firework of the day. Happy, content and having a breath of fresh air under the pop up roof, we fell asleep proud and sound. What a great way to start having a van. We are in love.
